Thanks so much to bookbinder Cass Barron for doing a live 'make-a-long' as part of our online Open Day this year! If you missed it don’t worry - you can still get creative and make some Christmas decorations by watching the replay.
In this free tutorial, Cass shows you how to make a series of origami 'pages’ and how to glue these together and finish them off to create lovely up-cycled decorations. These make great decorations for your home, but they also fold flat so can easily be posted to friends and family - a nice alternative to a Christmas card and great way to use up odds and ends of paper.
You will need -
⭐ Some decorative paper - for example, last year's wrapping paper, old book pages, maps (enough for several 10cm x 10cm squares)
⭐ Ruler
⭐ Pencil
⭐ Glue stick
⭐ Scissors
⭐ Thread or thin ribbon for hanging
⭐ Bonefolder & an awl (If you have them but don't worry if not, there is a work-around in the tutorial)
⭐ Mulled wine & mince pies - optional but recommended!
